Turn the Lights On: Know the Real Deal Why we say No to the RH BILL

Yes, No or “It’s Complicated”?

Many generations have already passed since this infamous quote has streamed itself into the hearts and minds of Filipinos everywhere. But looking at Philippine history, has the youth ever made a stand for the Filipino nation? When the economy hit rock bottom, when poverty rates continued to rise, and when threats to national security picked up its pace, nasaan nga ba tayo naparoroon sa mga panahong ito?

First Quarter Storm? EDSA? Hindi magpapahuli, may EDSA Dos pa.

Do these events ring a bell? They say the youth were big players each time the Filipino people wanted change in the government leadership. But what if there was no president to oust?

We are caught in the middle of things. Today, our lawmakers are battling out in congress something which they say is for the good of our future.

This August 7, JUDGMENT DAY is coming.
Congress will finally make a decision on the bill.

We need to control our numbers. We need contraceptives. We need to give young people the 411 on sex. We need to pass the Reproductive Health Bill.

WOEH? ‘Di nga? Ano raw? Are you serious? Will the RH Bill really be our golden ticket to Hollywood?

RESPETO. Ito ang aming hinihingi. Ito ang aming sigaw. Respeto sa aming relihiyon, sa aming buhay, at higit sa lahat, sa aming kinabukasan.

To all our fellow young people, it’s time to discover the real deal on this bill. We need to make a stand for life and for what is right. This is the true golden ticket to a bright future.

Yes, No or ‘It’s Complicated’?

 1.   My boyfriend wants me to show his love for him through sex. I think I am ready, dahil mahal na mahal ko naman siya. May mali ba dun?

Girls choose to give in to their boyfriend’s request because of love. But on the guys’ part, sadly, it’s sometimes just about lust.

2.   Anyway, we’ll be using a condom. I won’t get pregnant right?

Sabi sa Theology of the Body ni Pope John Paul II, “sex is a language of self-donation – a total emotional, physical and spiritual gift of self.” Habang nagtatalik ang mag-asawa, sinasabi nila sa isa’t isa na I give all that I have to you and I receive all that you are giving. I am giving you all of myself even my fertility… forever.” Ito ang plano ng Diyos para sa sex: love giving and life giving, para lamang sa mag-asawang kasal sa simbahan. Dahil dito, isang kalokohan ang sex out of marriage o pre-marital sex. Sex is meant to be enjoyed between spouses without guilt and fear. Gagamit ka ng condom dahil ayaw mong mabuntis, tila sinasabi mo “I’m keeping myself from you and I won’t give you my fetility.”

3.    What’s the big deal with using pills? Everyone’s using it anyway.

For all the girls, would you really submit your body and your fertility to chemicals just so you can be sexually available? Any good thing enjoyed without restraint loses its value. Your fertility is a gift! Never forget that. Wouldn’t you hold out yourself for a man who will respect that gift? Contraception seems to promise you a life of freedom, but if you really think about it, it doesn’t really help you at all. Sabi muli sa Theology of the Body, contraception sets you up for a future in marriage that is only based on a partial gift of self other than a total gift of self. The International Agency for Research on Cancer classifies oral contraceptive pills as Group 1 carcinogens). If you think that using pills is no big deal, think again and think about what your body has to say with the chemical intruders you wish to take in.

4.   I want to know more about sex. Who would teach me?

According to Art. II, Sec. 12 of the Philippine Constitution, parents have the right to raise and develop the moral character of their children and to care and rear… for the development of their moral, mental and physical characteristics and well-being. Indeed, parents have the right to raise their children according to their faith and the law.

5.   But I’m shy to ask my parents about it, it’s awkward and weird. Ano na lang ang mangyayari sa akin?

If and when you can relate with this dilemma, your school/academic institution is the best place for learning and development. But what we are not comfortable with is the mandatory sex education the RH Bill obligates starting grade 5 until the last year of High School. Through this, young people will be taught the value of patience, waiting, purity and love. These are the things young people need to learn about to live a happy, pure and guilt-free life.

6.   I know that Abortion is bad, but if it is just blood, isn’t that acceptable?

In truth, life begins from this very point of fertilization, the union of male and female reproductive cells. Hindi bacteria o dugo lamang ang nabubuo. Research shows that a new human being (with DNA) already comes into existence from the earliest moment of conception. Coming to life is a person who well may be a future doctor, lawyer, teacher, or even a future president of the republic; a person with a mission and a purpose. Because of this, even the fertilized egg has the right to live. Many people are not aware of the abortifacient effect of contraceptives and IUD’s. Biologically, from the moment of conception, this new human being is not part of the mother’s body. Tulad ng isinasaad sa ating saligang batas, “the state shall equally protect… the life of the unborn from conception…”

7.   Reproductive Health sounds good especially for women. Shouldn’t we all go for it?

There is a pressing concern for this in the Philippines because of the lack of proper health care, health systems, health care personnel and health facilities especially for poor women. This is what the government should focus on instead of providing women with options that may harm them. These artificial means either prevent fertilization or bring about the destruction of the early embryo.

8.   We are overpopulated in the Philippines; don’t you think it’s about time to have population control?

Almost everyone thinks this way because everywhere we look, there’s a bunch of people crowding somehow. Just look at the rush hour in the MRT or the case of malls especially during Sunday’s, there’s just too much people, they will complain! But the truth is, we are not overpopulated in the Philippines. It’s normal to converge in the cities because the jobs are there but if you just consider the total land area of the Philippines, there’s more than enough space for every Filipino.

9.   Bulag ba kayo? They have many children which they cannot provide for; I really think the RH Bill is the solution to this problem.

Will getting rid of innocent, poor children really solve poverty in the country? According to Simon Kuznets, Nobel Prize winner in Economics, there is no clear association between population and the incidence of poverty. The causes of poverty are: misguided economic policies, social inequalities, poor economic and social services, and most especially, graft and corruption. The government should work towards long-term and sustainable human development measures. Get rid of corrupt, greedy and rich politicians. This is what can truly help the poor. People are a country’s most important resource. We need people who will work for this country.

10. The RH Bill is a political issue.

Like any normal citizen, the Church is merely expressing her stand against an issue which has an effect on the dignity and on the quality of life of its flock. May it be a political issue or not, may karapatan ang simbahang makialam at magsalita lalo na kung ang panukalang ito ay maaaring magdulot ng kapahamakan sa sangkatauhan. It is simply her right! If the Church should stop from speaking out just because times are changing, she would renege on her pastoral responsibility to her flock. Higit pa rito, the state ensures religious freedom. Therefore, they cannot impose something which goes against the beliefs of a particular sect, in our case, the beliefs of the Catholic Church.
There you go people!

The RH Bill has an effect on your life, on your future, and on the life of your future family. Kung gusto mong makaranas ng buhay na puno ng kasiyahan, pagmamahalan at kalayaan, you better think about your status when it comes to this bill.

Much has been said, status check tayo: Yes, No or ‘It’s Complicated’? Para sa isang magandang kinabukasan at isang masayang buhay para sa lahat, kaming mga kabataang katoliko ay sumisigaw, NO TO THE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH BILL. Respeto.

    Gagamit ka ng condom dahil ayaw mong mabuntis, tila sinasabi mo “I’m keeping myself from you and I won’t give you my fetility.” ayan po ang hirap sa ating mga pinoy e, nakatuon lang po tayo sa iisang bagay na naisip natin na masma, well masama nga po iyong “I’m keeping myself from you and I won’t give you my fertility.”

    For all the girls, would you really submit your body and your fertility to chemicals just so you can be sexually available? grabe naman hu yan, ang purpose po ng pills ay to prevent pregnancy, to control the birth rate, and to prevent hunger to people. nagkakaroon po ng cancer dahil sa matagal na paggamit ng pills, ito po ay binibigyan ng time kung kelan at hanggang kelan ka lamang iinom, hindi po nila alam kung kelan at hanggang kelan iinom dahil sa kakulangan sa kaalaman tungkol dito. alam ko po na merong ibang babaeng ganun na gngamit ang pills para maging sexually available, pero sila pu yon,. wg nyo pong idamay lahat, sila na lamang po ang kausapin at pangaralan ninyo dahil ung ibang babae po ay ginagamit ang pills para po maiwasan nila ang pagdami ng anak, kase po natural sa lalaki ang lust, hindi ho mapipigilan ng magasawa iyon, kaya kung hindi po mkkgmit ng contraceptives, ay lalo pong dadami ang populasyon at maghihirap sila.

    But what we are not comfortable with is the mandatory sex education the RH Bill obligates starting grade 5 until the last year of High School. Mapusok na ang mga kabataan ngayon, ano na lang ang mangyayari kung sila’y tuturuan ukol sa paggamit ng condoms, pills, IUD at iba pang contraceptives. Para bang okay lang ang makipag-sex kahit hindi kasal, may contraceptive naman kapag nagkataon. May tamang panahon para sa mga bagay na ‘to. ang mandatory sex education po ay may ksamang values education tungkol po sa hindi sila dapat gumwa ng pre-marital sex, alam po nang lahat yan, hndi naman po ganun kasama yung magtuturo para hindi sabihin ung tamang gawain. mawalang galang na ho, but again, palawikin po ang ating kaisipan, wag pong maging kagaya ng iba na makitid ang utak.
    yung abortion po e hindi po yan pinahihintulutan sa RH Bill. may batas na pong nakalaan doon, hindi ho nila sinsabing pwdeng magpaabort kpg napatupad ang RH Bill.

    There is a pressing concern for this in the Philippines because of the lack of proper health care, health systems, health care personnel and health facilities especially for poor women. This is what the government should focus on instead of providing women with options that may harm them. Tila nakasasama sa kalusugan ng mga kababaihan ang mga hormonal at chemical contraceptives na yan. Higit pa rito, buhay ang nasasayang. These artificial means either prevent fertilization or bring about the destruction of the early embryo. nako, e hindi nyo nga ho binasa ung content ng RH Bill, at HINDI PO NAKASAAD DITO NA DAPAT GUMAMIT NG CHEMICAL CONTRACEPTIVES. HINDI PO SILA INOOBLIGA, ANG LAYUNIN PO NITO AY IPAALAM O BIGYANG KAALAMAN ANG MGA KABABAIHAN TUNGKOL SA REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AT RESPOSIBLE PARENT HOOD ATBP.
    SEC. 3. Guiding PrinciplesThe following principles constitute the framework upon which this Act is anchored:1. Freedom of choice, which is central to the exercise of right, must be fully guaranteed by the State;
    2. Respect for, protection and fulfillment of reproductive health and rights seek to promote the rights and welfare of couples, adult individuals, women and adolescents;
    3. Since human resource is among the principal asset of the country, maternal health, safe delivery of healthy children and their full human development and responsible parenting must be ensured through effective reproductive health care;
    4. The provision of medically safe, legal, accessible, affordable and effective reproductive health care services and supplies is essential in the promotion of people’s right to health, especially of the poor and marginalized;
    5. The State shall promote, without bias, all effective natural and modern methods of family planning that are medically safe and legal;
    6. The State shall promote programs that: (1) enable couples, individuals and women to have the number and spacing of children and reproductive spacing they desire with due consideration to the health of women and resources available to them; (2) achieve equitable allocation and utilization of resources; (3) ensure effective partnership among the national government, local government units and the private sector in the design, implementation, coordination, integration, monitoring and evaluation of people-centered programs to enhance quality of life and environmental protection; (4) conduct studies to analyze demographic trends towards sustainable human development and (5) conduct scientific studies to determine safety and efficacy of alternative medicines and methods for reproductive health care development;
    7. The provision of reproductive health information, care and supplies shall be the joint responsibility of the National Government and the Local Government Units (LGUs);
    8. Active participation by non-government, women’s, people’s, civil society organizations and communities is crucial to ensure that reproductive health and population and development policies, plans, and programs will address the priority needs of the poor, especially women;
    9. While this Act recognizes that abortion is illegal and punishable by law, the government shall ensure that all women needing care for post-abortion complications shall be treated and counseled in a humane, non-judgmental and compassionate manner;
    10. There shall be no demographic or population targets and the mitigation of the population growth rate is incidental to the promotion of reproductive health and sustainable human development;
    11. Gender equality and women empowerment are central elements of reproductive health and population and development;
    12. The limited resources of the country cannot be suffered to be spread so thinly to service a burgeoning multitude making allocations grossly inadequate and effectively meaningless;
    13. Development is a multi-faceted process that calls for the coordination and integration of policies, plans, programs and projects that seek to uplift the quality of life of the people, more particularly the poor, the needy and the marginalized; and
    14. That a comprehensive reproductive health program addresses the needs of people throughout their life cycle.

    the truth is, we are not overpopulated in the Philippines. Mukha lang ganun dahil may over-concentration ng mga tao sa urban areas tulad na lang ng Metro Manila. It’s normal to converge in the cities because the jobs are there but if you just consider the total land area of the Philippines, there’s more than enough space for every Filipino. nako, hindi hu iyon ang reklamo, hndi nyo hu ba napapansin ung mga taong nagugutom? hindi nyo pu ba naiisip na may mga ganung tao na sa PILIPINAS, at maari nating pigilan ang pagdami nila kung maituturo sa kanila ang responsible parenthood at family planning. hindi ho total land area ang problema dito.

Hindi population control ang sagot sa kahirapan! Bigyan ng trabaho at access to education ang mga kapos nating mga kababayan. The government should work towards long-term and sustainable human development measures. Get rid of corrupt, greedy and rich politicians. haha.. mawalang galang na po ha, kase po hindi po sagot ng gobyerno ang lahat ng pangangailangan ng bawat tao, sila po ay nagoorganize, nagbibigay batas, nagaayos at nagpapaunlad ng bansa, everyone has their own responsibility to prevent poverty. at sa panahon po ngayon, ginagwan na po ng paraan ang corruption, huwag nyo nman pong isisi lahat sa gobyerno, kayo po kaya ang magtrabaho dun para makita nyo ano po?. ang poverty po ay eto, Poverty is the state of one who lacks a certain amount of material possessions or money.[1] Poverty is relative to, and is the antonym of, wealth.Absolute poverty or destitution refers to the one who lacks basic human needs, which commonly includes clean and fresh water, nutrition, health care, education, clothing and shelter. About 1.7 billion people are estimated to live in absolute poverty today. Relative poverty refers to lacking a usual or socially acceptable level of resources or income as compared with others within a society or country.[1] For most of history poverty had been mostly accepted as inevitable as traditional modes of production were insufficient to give an entire population a comfortable standard of living.[1][2] After the industrial revolution, mass production in factories made wealth increasingly more inexpensive and accessible. Of more importance is the modernization of agriculture, such as fertilizers, in order to provide enough yield to feed the population.[3] People who practise asceticism intentionally live in economic poverty so as to attain spiritual wealth. tapos po sasabihin nyong dahil lang sa mga politiko itong poverty? ay nako, mali po kayo, ang kahirapan po ay nagsisimula sa ating mga tao, dahil sa pagiging iresponsable natin, walang trabaho, walang pera, walang pagkain, nagugutom,. dahil po ba yan sa mga pulitiko? sa tingin ko pa ay hindi, may kasalanan din tayo kaya tayo naghihirap, tapos magaanak pa po ng marami? e di lalo na pong naghirap.. e kung may alam sila sa family planning at responsible parenthood? e d matutulungan po natin sila na maiwasan pa ang lubos na kahirapan. di ba po? ang long term human deveopment measure po ay maaari pong sa ating magsimula, sa sobrang dami na po ng tao sa pilipinas, sa tingin nyo po ba e matutuunan ng pansin ng gobyerno ang bawat isa? e ppwede naman pong tayo ang lumapit at magpatulong sa kanila, dd, kung pupunta po tayo sa reproductive health programs e mas mapapadali po ang long term human development na hinihingi nyo, at dapat din po natin silang tulungan hindi ung palagi nlng tayong ngrereklamo.

      ” pwde po bang pakibasa ung contents ng RH Bill..”

      Nabasa po namin. Sa kadahilanang nabasa namin ito kaya kami naglabas ng ganitong statement.

      “hindi po layunin nitong bill na ito na iencourage ang lahat na makipagtalik. palawakin ang ating isip,”

      Hindi sinasabi pointblank sa bill siyempre. But logic tells you what happens next. If you indeed read the bill, without bias, you should also “read between the lines.”
      Simpleng reasoning lang po na ito ay nageencourage ng pagtatalik: bigyan mo ako ng condom? Ano ang gagawin ko? Kung hindi ko man gagamitin, siyempre, itatapon ko nalang. Sa bawat hindi paggamit, sana ay naipundar na lang ang badyet sa mas malalaking isyu ng sambayanan na dapat tugunan, Palawakin nga po natin ang ating isip. Ang RH Bill ay hindi lamang usapin na pangrelihiyon. Kaya ang mungkahi namin ay “read between the lines.”

      “ang hirap po sa atin e hindi natin maintindihan ang isang bagay kaya kinokontra natin, isipin nyo po ung ibang taong naghihrap tapos marami pang anak.”

      Naiintindihan namin ang RH Bill at ang maaaring idulot nito kapag ito ay napasa. Patawad po sa pag-iingay ngunit kailangan namin panindigan ang katotohanan na hindi nakikita ng mga taong bulag sa pag “read between the lines.” Bakit po malaking issue ang mga taong naghihirap na maraming anak? Cancer po ba sila ng lipunang gustong umunlad? Bakit hindi isipin ang mga naka-upo sa pwesto ng gobyernong hindi naibibigay ang tamang badget para matugunan ang kahirapan sa bansa? Again, “read between the lines.”

      “hindi ho isinasaad dun na ineecourage ang pre-marital sex o sex out of marriage. layunin lang nitong bigyang kaalaman lahat ng tao para maiwasan ang STI, STD, AIDS, at para maiwasan dn an sobrang pagdami ng tao, to control our population ba, maswerte nga ung mga may kaya pa e, hndi kagaya nung ibang taong wlang wla tlga, kung may ganitong panukala, maiiwasan ang pagdating ng mga tao sa puntong walang wala na sila..”

      Precisely why we need to “read between the lines.” Siyempre hindi nila ilalagay yun, kung ganun man ay siguradong bagsak na sa kamara sa umpisa pa lamang. HINDI NAKAKAPREVENT AT CONTRACEPTION SA STI, STD AT AIDS. This is a medical fact. The viruses of veneral diseases and AIDS are larger than the microscopic holes of a condom. Sa paglaganap ng kontrasepyon, logical po na tataas din ang ganitong mga sakit. Paki-google na lamang po ang epekto ng contraceptive mentality at ang paghirang sa Thailand na isa sa nangungunang bansang laganap ang AIDS.

      Hindi sakit ng lipunan ang mahihirap. Kung ganun any iyong sinasabi, mali pala talaga na pro-poor ang bill na pinapanukala. Kasi sa mahihirap nanaman isinisisi ang hindi pagbangon ng ekonomiya ng bansa. Hindi ba kailan lamang ay sinabi na ang wealth ng Pilipinas ay nasa tao niya? Kaya lang naman dumadami ang anak ng isang naghihirap na mag-asawa dahil kung wala ka namang trabaho at nasa bahay ka lang, ano na nga lang ba ang gagawin mo? This is a fact. We encourage you to look into studies that say so.

      “ngunit paano naman po kung marami nang anak? tapos walang perang pambuhay, pampakain, pampaaral sa kanila? karaptan po ng bawat bata ang alagaan ng magulang, buhayin(palakihin, hindi po ung bubuhayin na magsesex, baka ho mamisunderstood nyo, yan ang laging kadalasang problema e), pakainin, paaralin..”

      Precisely the irony of why we push for this bill that will take 13Billion from taxpayers’ pockets to fund RH when there are MORE PRESSING ISSUES to be addressed. Clearly, this is another “quick fix” solution we are looking into.

      You said it right there:
      karaptan po ng bawat bata ang alagaan ng magulang, buhayin…palakihin.

      Buhayin at palakihin nga natin ang mga bata…mula sa sinapupunan na hindi bibigyan ng karapatang mabuhay dahil sa kontrasepsyon.

      “nagkakaroon po ng ganitong failure dahil sa kakulangan sa kaalaman sa paggamit ng contraceptives, sa tulong ng RH bill, matutulungan ang mga taong nasa edad na kung paano gamitin ang contraceptives, at hindi po nito sinasabi na dapat ay lagi tayong ggmit ng contraceptives.”

      Again, a fallacy that the RH side is saying. Have you researched on the structure of a condom? It has tiny holes measuring five to 5 microns in size. The AIDS virus is only 0.1 micron. Hmm…that is something that should not be missed, don’t you think?

      “grabe naman hu yan, ang purpose po ng pills ay to prevent pregnancy”

      Pregnancy comes after what? Being sexually available.

      “nagkakaroon po ng cancer dahil sa matagal na paggamit ng pills, ito po ay binibigyan ng time kung kelan at hanggang kelan ka lamang iinom, hindi po nila alam kung kelan at hanggang kelan iinom dahil sa kakulangan sa kaalaman tungkol dito.”

      Ang RH po ay matagal nang programa ng DOH. Nagbibigay na po ng libreng kontrasepsyon sa mga health centers. Ang malaking tanong…NAEEDUCATE ba ang mga taong tumatanggap ng maaari nilang sapitin? May probisyon ba sa RH BILL na nagsasabing hanggang sa ganitong panahon lamang bibigyan ng kontrasepsyon ang isang babae? Hindi nga alam ngayon dahil HINDI SINASABI. Precisely why education is indeed important. EDUCATION IN GENERAL. Not JUST sex education.

      ” kase po natural sa lalaki ang lust, hindi ho mapipigilan ng magasawa iyon”

      Mag-asawa. Hindi lang naman mag-asawa ang layunin na scope ng bill hindi po ba? Kaya nga tuturuan na as early as Grade 5. Kung natural sa lalaki ang lust, hindi mapipigilan…at bibigyan ng libreng condom…ano po kaya ang maaaring mangyari? We leave you to that to “read between the lines.”

      “Mapusok ang kabataan ngayon. Ano na lang ang mangyayari kung sila’y tuturuan ukol sa paggamit ng condoms, pills, IUD at iba pang contraceptives. Para bang okay lang ang makipag-sex kahit hindi kasal, may contraceptive naman kapag nagkataon. May tamang panahon para sa mga bagay na ‘to. ang mandatory sex education po ay may ksamang values education tungkol po sa hindi sila dapat gumwa ng pre-marital sex, alam po nang lahat yan,”

      You said it right there again, mapusok ang kabataan, bakit hindi turuan. And then you said too that the sex ed has values ed included. Parang ganito lamang yan: “Hindi ayon sa batas ng Diyos ang magpremarital sex. NGUNIT, heto…pag naisipan nyo at di napigilan…heto ang condom, IUD..etc.” That sounds scary. Plus, have you read the manual they prepared for Sex ED? I’m sure you didn’t. We won’t speak against it if we did not read it for ourselves.

      “yung abortion po e hindi po yan pinahihintulutan sa RH Bill. may batas na pong nakalaan doon, hindi ho nila sinsabing pwdeng magpaabort kpg napatupad ang RH Bill.”

      Another misleading premise by the RH Bill. In its premise RH was defined by INTERNATIONAL standards. To simply look at the international situation, abortion has been part of RH, subtly injected into consciousness when people have been desensitized to the ills of RH. Hillary Clinton was quoted on this when she spoke on the foreign policies of the US, one is RH, she said one cannot separate abortion from RH.

      Please. We have seen how laws have been bent overtime here in the Philippines. How there has been a gross disregard on the constitution. The RH is not even constitutionally sound when you read it.

      On the lengthy quote of the bill’s contents, we suggest again and again, “read between the lines.” Now we suggest this even more: “read between all the flowery lines” and look into the situation beyond the bill…who is backing it up? Who will REALLY benefit from it given the long-standing corruption problem in the country.

      On poverty and land distribution. Marami nga po nagugutom, so bakit nga po RH Bill? Mapapakain po ba ng RH Bill ang maralitang Pilipino? Kokonti man ang pamilya nila, kung wala paring OPORTUNIDAD mabuhay na HINDI GUTOM, GUTOM PARIN SILA.

      “mawalang galang na po ha, kase po hindi po sagot ng gobyerno ang lahat ng pangangailangan ng bawat tao, sila po ay nagoorganize, nagbibigay batas, nagaayos at nagpapaunlad ng bansa, everyone has their own responsibility to prevent poverty.”

      Mawalang galang na rin po ha…article II of the Philippine constitution has laid down all the duties of the state. Duty ng gobyerno ang pagsagot sa pangangailangan ng tao LALONG LALO NA ANG PAGBIGAY SA MGA MAHIHIRAP NG TAMANG OPORTUNIDAD MABUHAY. Mga trabaho, tamang edukasyon para sa mga bata. Everybody has their own responsibility indeed to prevent poverty but with the current bureaucracy in the government, we are saddened by the idea that there are people who no matter how hard they try to fight to live, they are still devoid of a life of integrity and prosperity.

      “ay nako, mali po kayo, ang kahirapan po ay nagsisimula sa ating mga tao, dahil sa pagiging iresponsable natin, walang trabaho, walang pera, walang pagkain, nagugutom,. dahil po ba yan sa mga pulitiko?”

      Hindi lahat ng mahirap ay iresponsable. Maraming lumalaban para mabuhay. Kami sa Live Pure Movement ay mismong nawitness ito. Ang gobyerno ang susi ng pagbibigay ng OPORTUNIDAD. Tama, walang trabaho, walang pera, walang pagkain, nagugutom…ito ay dahil…WALANG OPORTUNIDAD. Wala na nga silang oportunidad, sila pa ngayon, kung babasahin sa inyong argumento, ay tila “salot sa lipunan.” HINDI ANG MAHIHIRAP ANG SALOT SA LIPUNAN. Ang ideya na hanggang ngayon hindi nabibigay sa tao ang karapatang mabuhay ng tama at matiwasay ang kanser ng bansa.

      Tama, kami ay nagrereklamo. Tama lang naman na magreklamo upang mailagay sa ilaw ang mga isyu na matagal na nating binaon sa dilim. At dahil nawalan na ng pag-asa ang Pilipino na ungkatin ito muli, heto tayo. We try to put a quick fix to the solutions our country is facing. Population is not detrimental to the economic rise of a country. It is the country’s wealth. Just look at how the UK suffers an economic crisis due to growth decline.

      This is why we at the LP movement strive to turn the lights on. We shall not be silent.
